@Lars confirming its combination of batch data entry/civi imports and hand entry for example stock and efts are hand entered by @MDemosWMF . Are there any other gifts which are manually entered by hand @MDemosWMF?

@Lars just chiming in on this as well, we often have to send $5k+ TYL via pdfs via email and it would hugely help to have this functionality.

@Lars a large number of the Major Gift related donations are hand entered since they are EFTs or DAFs (not imported).

@Lars - I think Desiree should be looped in on this discussion as well. She's ooo for a couple of weeks, i'll find some time when she's back to figure this out. From the wishlist perspective, I was concerned with donors being pulled into email (and/or mailing) sends who had already made a gift via their linked daf, but the daf didn't have an email address, so it looks like they hadn't donated and then get included again on an email.

49844569 and yes that makes sense since there as so many. In relation to priority, I think it depends how many of these are at the $5k+ and above level as it makes it tricky to review any other activities when you're looking at the activities for these donors.

@Lars thanks Lars and I think for this last question, a count overall is good with the total we don't really want to a count per officer but just an idea of the pending revenue is great.

@Lars for the points mentioned in your previous comment about checking for activities, these meets our needs I think. I wanted to double check that for the Major Gifts Engagement activities, these would be those activities specifically entered by members of the MG team for anticipated gifts? I'm just trying to think about how this will work for the process on the team. I think the 90 days is reasonable and the package and appeal for that activity. For those gifts that aren't related to a specific appeal, for example a multi year commitment gift we need to be alerted about, they won't have a package or appeal code but just the MG Engagement Activity.

@MDemosWMF - yes i think we definitely need a way to be able to incorporate linked contacts via certain relationships to ensure accurate giving history is reflected in emails and mailings and think a larger discussion is needed. We'd ideally want to have as much contact information as we can for DAF records.

@Eileenmcnaughton did you need the list of appeal codes we use in MGFE per fiscal year?

@DBautista-WMF - looping you in on this task as I know we've discussed it previously and its related to our $10k gift tracker process.

@Ejegg thanks for the ping on this, I still can't add relationships via this way due to the solicitor field issue. I think making it 'not required' field is a good idea for now and I can check if the field is still used. I know we switched over to Relationship Manager instead.

@MDemosWMF - also do you have any information/field the Faircom data will include?

@MDemosWMF - we were going to use some of these fields to help screen donors for inclusion on our MGFE appeals for FY25-26. For FY24-25, we used them and the upgrade asks we did for this cohort worked well so we were going to look at this again for this year. I'm due to pull this data next week for our MGFE suppression lists which is before the deadline you mentioned.

@Ejegg - are you able to confirm what happens when a donor fills in their details in the employer form when they make a gift? Is the email still being sent to the donor to confirm that their company has a matching gift program?

@MDemosWMF and @Ejegg - thanks both for looking into this, I think it is likely donor error where there are a few options maybe for certain companies.

@Eileenmcnaughton I wanted to check in on this, we would want the donor segment to reflect the gift amount they are soft credited for right? Is this something we can do?

@Eileenmcnaughton - I went through and reviewed all the ones on the $1k list, a few I'm unsure of so maybe we restore to be on the safe side, a few I restored and merged and then there were a few that were needed to be deleted. I left notes in the doc so you can see.

@Eileenmcnaughton Sandra and I chatted and I agree with this, it would save a lot of manually deduping time. I also wondered if we could also have the script automatically merge records where first name, last name, mailing address are a match but the email address is different. Is there scope for these to also dedupe, where the new email tis o be recorded as the primary email and we keep the old email as an old non primary email address?

@Eileenmcnaughton - would it help if I shared some CIDs with contributions that should flow into the Major Gifts Alternative and Other Category so you can see what I mean?

@Ejegg - I was trying to look for duplicate Organization Contact types within a certain group in Civi to dedupe, rather than individuals who are the contact people for organizations. e.g. cid 1040052 and 14868337

@Ejegg and @SHust oh yikes, really sorry, I was going a batch merge for some duplicate org contacts in Civi. Should I not use that rule going forward? I stopped the merge now. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.

@Eileenmcnaughton @MDemosWMF - I think the Trilogy import was used for email sends years ago and nobody on MGFE team uses this import so I think we're good to remove, but just to double check @JSimmons we don't use this for any events do we?

@Eileenmcnaughton - I actually have run into this issue, this week. I exported some Endowment gifts from Civi for a mailing and the Addressee and Postal fields are blank. Here's some CIDs

@Ejegg - I think that sounds like a good plan, since Desiree has done a lot of manual clean up for our current major gift email campaign we wouldn't want to over ride the work she's done to ensure this field is filled. Would it make sense to do the script going forward for any new gifts that come in of $250+ and DAF related? Then we should be in better shape for future major gift email campaigns and little manual clean up would be needed on our end.

@Ejegg thank you. I'm going do a bulk import for these Activities next week and we'll likely be searching using these new custom Activities in the following week, will this work ok?

@Ejegg thanks for looking into this, we don't need records backfilled. We only really need it for donors who fall within the major donor audience (donors who make a gift of $250+ or donor advised donors) which is probably around 30k donors. We have been updating the field when we see it is blank ourselves manually. The main reason we wanted to use the email greeting field over first name is because we have a higher number of Organizations who have been long time donors who we email and it doesn't feel right to address them as Dear Wikimedia Supporter. We also have a number of donors who donate as a couple and customizing this field allows us to address donors as a couple in our emails as well.

I think its the preferred language field that might be causing the issue for the export, but I need this field in the export.

@Dwisehaupt and @Eileenmcnaughton I wasn't sure who to bump this up to, but we're looking to automate more of the thank you letters we send in major gifts and since we have a lot of organizations that make large gifts, this needs to be fixed before we can do that. Is this an easy fix in the donor thank you template?

I think we assumed the email_greeting was the field used for the salutation in the automatic email? That would likely be our preference but if not I think "Dear Friends of Organization Name" would be preferred?
