Requirements
People who meet the criteria below will see the Reply Tool ( read: [ reply ]) when visiting a talk page:
- People who are logged in or logged out
- People accessing Commons using the desktop version of Wikipedia
People who meet the criteria below will *NOT* see the Reply Tool ( read: [ reply ]) when visiting a talk page:
- People who have explicitly disabled the Enable quick replying setting within Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing
Testing instructions
At the wikis listed in the ===Wikis to test section below, do the following...
Logged in
- Log in as an existing user
- Visit a talk page
- Verify [ reply ] links are present next to each comment
- Click a [ reply ] link on the page of your choosing
- Verify the Reply Tool opens as expected
- Document the text input mode – source or visual - that you see by default
Logged out
- Visit a talk page
- Verify [ reply ] links are present next to each comment
- Click a [ reply ] link on the page of your choosing
- Verify the Reply Tool opens as expected
- Document the text input mode – source or visual - that you see by default
New account
- Create a new account
- Visit a talk page
- Verify [ reply ] links are present next to each comment
