Wrong error message after deleting an article
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I just saw on my watchlist a deletion request on an article:

13:13 Zellersee (Naturschutzgebiet)‎ (Unterschied | Versionen) . . (+128)‎ . . W!B: (Diskussion | Beiträge) (SLA, hinfällig)

I clicked on the diff link with the URL: https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Zellersee_%28Naturschutzgebiet%29&curid=8448062&diff=135325722&oldid=135325211

In the meantime the article was deleted.

I get the following error message:

Ungültiger Titel

Der Titel der angeforderten Seite ist ungültig, leer oder ein ungültiger Sprachlink von einem anderen Wiki. Möglicherweise enthält er nicht zulässige Sonderzeichen wie zum Beispiel <, >, |, [, ].

Zurück zur Seite Wikipedia:Hauptseite.

The link to the history also generates the same error message with the URL: https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Zellersee_%28Naturschutzgebiet%29&curid=8448062&action=history

Expected result:

The error message should show that the article got deleted.

Reopened. The error handler is already there. The curid parameter prevents the correct error handler.

Primary a problem of the link generated in the watchlist.

Checked (in wmf.22) both links in the task description - the message wording correctly describes a page as deleted.

The messages above were confirmed on testwiki wmf.23 by deleting an article. The user with that article on watchlist, will see the message above by clicking on the links on their Watchlist.
