@gpaumier, do you hope to do this for all 280+ Wikipedias? Any of the non-Wikipedias?

Citoid depends upon good TemplateData, so I believe that you will need to check all of the templates it uses for TemplateData, too. In T96323 I've requested a list of commonly used templates that are missing TemplateData for about a dozen of the largest communities. Checking citation templates for TemplateData is a narrower task (it should only involve finding and checking a handful of templates per wiki) but a deeper task (you need to make sure that the TemplateData is complete and accurate, not just partially present). The list of what's used the most might be a quick way to find some citation templates at some wikis.

No, right now I'm only looking at the English Wikipedia, and some of the biggest Wikipedias with VE enabled, like the French Wikipedia.

At the moment, I'm focusing on the citoid service, not the citoid tool in VisualEditor. This means that basically I'm going to try to identify the most used sites in citations, and check if citoid/Zotero manage to extract relevant information.

This is unrelated and due to an error in that commit's summary, which actually refers to T96926.

I asked Guillaume to kindly make one list for the Spanish Wikipedia as well.

Status update:

On 2015-04-30 I generated a preliminary list for the English Wikipedia :
