Heres the mock banner we can run on the portal page to ask people who usually bounce from the page with any action to participate in the survey.

Attached are mocks for the next few A/B tests.

I've some concerns with the large Picture of the Day background image idea. I've shared them with most of Portal team members already but want to share them here too, just for the record:

More test mocks.. this time focusing on "In The News" feature and showing both mobile and desktop views. This is slightly work in progress, but just whats to put some ideas out here.

Hey as promised heres a slightly bigger button with a slightly bigger search icon.

This is a weird bug, and we should fix it. I'm going to add this to the design and discovery portal backlog just so it doesnt get lost.

@debt, that will definitely help. We need to make a couple of version of different spacing and run it thru google's test and see what passes.

@debt So I think what Google is complaining about is space around the bigger list of language links at the bottom. I dont think moving the "a free encyclopedia" text is going to help with google's ranking of us as a mobile friendly page.

I think for now a desktop only solution to this is fine. I can't think how we can accommodate this better on mobile without taking more space. And on mobile, space is even more precious.

Alright, after having a discussion with Oliver, Mikhail and Dan, we've deciding on the question: "Did you find what you were looking for?"

@Ironholds this looks good! We should get someone else to review the basic schema too I think. Someone who has done this before and can help us identify anything we're missing.

I will be documenting the upcoming A/B tests for wikipedia.org portal page. It will include what our initial plans and what problems we're trying to address.

As per our discussion earlier, lets just run this survey on search pages for now.

I have updated the task with a survey URL. The survey needs to be deployed on the search results page, and only shown to every 1000th user to limit the number of responses we get. We might change this number in the future.

@EBernhardson We now have more than 13K completed survey responses, which is more than enough data that we had hoped to collect. I would advise that we remove the link to the survey for now.
