Activation of the visual editor by default on a few wikis

Description

We need to check if it is reasonable to enable VE by default on the following wikis:

gan - Gan
iu - Inuktitut
kk : Kazakh
tg - Tajik

How good is VE for these wikis? Is there some identified blockers that would make the deployment an unreasonable option?

Per https://wikimedia.slack.com/archives/C010F7PJRRV/p1628274295011600?thread_ts=1628190738.008200&cid=C010F7PJRRV, the Growth-Team decided to deploy visual editor for all users by default, not just to newcomers (that would require a hack we don't want to take on).

They all use language variants, which is why they weren't enabled yet – but they probably can be now, given that we've done it on other languages with variants, see T250878, T270841.

@Trizek-WMF, per what @matmarex shared in T290614#7340776, the Editing Team is not currently aware of any technical issues that we think should block VE from being offered to newcomers at gan.wiki, iu.wiki, and tg.wiki.

With the above said, we would value hearing from volunteers at the wikis above to ensure they are not aware of any issues they perceive to be blockers before we move forward with this deployment.

@MMiller_WMF, I'm not sure that there are any Inuktitut speakers at iuwiki. Would the Growth features be pointful on that wiki?

I think you can have a lot of wikis where you can say that, Sherry. However, we wan't to provide all wikis the same experience, hoping to see (at least future) community members taking care of them.

Checked for new & old accounts - VE tab is present and Visual Editor works as expected.

@Urbanecm - the GrowthExperiments are not enabled by default on those four wikis? I'm moving the task to Test in Production|Watching for @Trizek-WMF to decide if some additional follow ups are need and for general monitoring.

Hi @Etonkovidova, thanks for checking. The Growth features are not yet enabled there by default, because VE is a requirement for that (without VE, many of the features like guidance don't work as well as they can with VE). Fixing that is in scope of T291826: Deploy Growth features on Gan, Inuktitut and Tajik Wikipedia (dark mode deployment happened, now I'm waiting for @Trizek-WMF to define a due date for full deployment).
