+1 to what @gabriel-wmde says. I would love to see technical writing handled in the same way as working on software, with an introduction in front of everyone to get potential contributors and then a table/small room to work on the project. I would also be interested in helping to organize this for the Hackathon in Vienna (and possibly the Wikimania Hackathon).
