AWB version 6.3.1.0 has been released, and I've been using it at enwiki for the last few hours. It can be accessed from "Help > Check for updates" within AWB.

Ten years on, you can safely ignore this request. I've made very few bad edits of this kind over the years, and the options at Special:Search have improved so that it is much easier to check.

With the newline deleted, the bracket fix still occurs.

Maybe the list could be loaded from an AWB configuration page at runtime? Then future changes could be handled without bothering the developers.

In addition there is disagreement over whether templates such as {{Expand Afrikaans}} should be moved inside {{Multiple issues}}. Apparently the current position is that AWB editors and bots are moving them inside, and other bots are moving then out again.

I'd prefer the find-and-replace dialogue not to get any wider than it is. Options can be turned on and off within the regular expressions themselves: the find string "\b(?x:q u i c k)\b" matches "the quick brown fox".

After adding {{Dis}} to Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Template redirects, you'll only see the bug if "Auto tagger" is turned ON and "General fixes" are turned OFF.

Thank you! I've successfully previewed and edited in Firefox. I've also saved an edit in AWB, which had also been broken for a few days.

I'm seeing ten seconds of "Sending request to en.wikipedia.org..." and no other response, not only from "publish changes" but also "show preview" and "show changes"

This is enough to show the error, without involving any templates or LUA code:

Although this bug was marked "resolved" in May 2017, the latest official release is still version 5.9.0.0 from January 2017.

Logged https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T166293 - AutoWikiBrowser does not recognise <references responsive/> and assumes the article needs a {{Reflist}}

My edit summaries are already long enough to fill the width of the screen in the page history, so I'd need an option to turn this off.

The extra text should only be added if the general fixes have made a change somewhere, not if they were merely enabled. I currently switch the edit summary dropdown after reviewing the diff of every edit, to choose between "Typo fixing, replaced: foo → bar" if there are no general fixes and "Typo/[[WP:AWB/GF|general]] fixes, replaced: foo → bar" if there are some.

I'm running AWB on Windows 10.
The AutoWikiBrowser dump scanner can only read from one XML file, so if pages-articles is dropped I would probably have to switch to pages-meta-current even though it would be twice as big to download and process. I work with about nine namespaces, so could only work with per-namespace dumps if someone provided me with scripting/programming help to download nine dumps, uncompress them, and combine them into a single file for AWB.

This request can be closed, since T154089 has made it redundant.

That's a good enough fix for me, as my newline was an accident

Since my last post here I've discovered that burnbit.com won't create a Torrent of a "pages-meta-current" file: "Sorry! but that file is too big". If "pages-articles" is discontinued we'll need some new recommendations for downloading a "pages-meta-current".

The bot request is likely to be declined, so this is not a good reason to close this. The request here is to extend AWB typo-fixing to handle phrases involving piped links. AWB typo-fixing always requires editor review and discretion to avoid saving false positives.

When its not on a page, %%pagename%% can be blank.
After you've clicked the start button, AWB has a "current page" and displays its name in the title bar. Could that be passed in to the regex tester?

Users are reporting this at Special:Watchlist, Special:Random, Special:Contributions, Special:Block as well as articles.

After that manual edit to user.config, AWB restarted maximized with all scrollbars showing. Your suggestion would be fine with me; when I start AWB I never want it to start minimized.
Yes, this is still happening. Minimize AWB; restart Windows; log in to Windows; start AWB - starts minimized; open the AWB window - no scrollbar in the upper pane. Now using AWB 5.8.5.1 and Windows 10.

Curiously, when I grab the text of that revision and feed it into Special:ExpandTemplates, an error message *is* displayed just after reference 4.

I use the enwiki pages-articles dumps for finding typos and grammar errors. Articles, of course, but also templates, portal pages, file descriptions, help pages, project-space policy pages... nearly everything except user pages and talk pages.
