Hi Nav and John. Is this proposal intended to supplement, or to replace, the existing Item Tour listed at https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Tours ?
Or intended for some other use-case or demographic, perhaps offline instruction?

I don't think such a tour should live in production Wikidata (instead, use test Wikidata). See https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Project_chat/Archive/2014/06#Wikidata:Tours for concern.

Hi @Quiddity, the existing one gives a tour about the structure of an item, but it doesn't explain how to create an item. I'm unsure what the limitations of the tour software are and if it would be possible to explain in a tour how to create a new item, do you know:

• Would it be possible for the box with text to point to the sidebar?
• Would it be possible to load https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:NewItem (or the testwikidata version of the page) as the page within a tour?

If these aren't possible then I guess it will just have to be a normal page of instructions which would be a bit of a shame since its such an important part of contributing to Wikidata

Maybe called 'Wikidata:Tours/creating a new item' or something

@Alicia_Fagerving_WMSE I updated the task, its hard to do because of technical limitations, might need some help from a wizard
