As the community is still discussing the setting of the election, I changed the status to Stalled. I (or someone) will change the status to Open when the consensus is formed. Thanks.

Maybe https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Spam_blacklist/About? (It's a better introduction than the en:MediaWiki_talk:Spam-blacklist page for a random new user, though admittedly less immediately actionable.)

Hey, I added both of you to review the election settings and language but removed once the election started, per standard practice. I will add both of you again once the votes are concluded.

@Nahid Hello, could you please add BigBullfrog@zhwiki into voter lists? His username was also changed recently. Thanks.

@Nahid Hello, could you please add RiceKing@zhwiki into voter lists, per his request? His username was changed recently and therefore it was not added into voter lists. Thanks.
Hello, the voter period should be 00:00, 29 May 2024 - 00:00, 12 June 2024 (i.e. 14 days), rather than 13 June. I would like to if it is possible to change the end date? Apologize for unclear information. Thanks.

- Regarding the anonymous RFC, it is technically the same as admin election. The only difference is that the interface text of the question and options are changed to "blank", and the community will only collect text comments rather than the number of votes.
@SCP-2000 I have created this mockup for the RFC comments. Is this something that you are looking for?

- The voting period is set, from 29 May 00UTC to 13 June 00UTC. Let me know if you prefer a localized timezone.
- Do we know who are the scrutineers for these votes? Let me know the usernames (if already exist on votewiki) otherwise please email me so that I can create the accounts and add them as admins.
- We prefer not to switch the language of votewiki to zh as we are also preparing for T364811 at the same time.
As for the RFC, I am not entirely sure how you wanted to set up the anonymous RFC vote. Can you please elaborate?

Timeline and voter list were updated. Thanks for @Stang's help on the voter list. There is no opposition on the proposed timeline from the community.
May 13 2024
I updated more information. Since it is impossible to setup the election within two days, I changed the timeline to "Late May / June" and will discuss with the local community.
May 6 2024
I updated some information of Candidates and timeline. I hope I can update configurations and more information in few days (I am quite busy IRL). The timeline may tight, so please let us know if we need to delay the election. Thanks.

The next step is to set Machine Translation non-default (default to source content) for zh language.

Perfect. I think we can plan to introduce these changes. We plan to introduce these in iterations.
- Limit publishing into the main namespace to "extended confirmed users" only.
- Get input from the community on the effects, for the community to decide whether to make the restriction more/less strict.
- Make machine translation non-default.
In this way we can have a better understanding on the effect of each of the changes and how to adjust them.

See my comment in [[T311469#9394906]]
At present, since the Chinese Wikipedia has a gadget of increasing font size, the gadget would override this font size options and it would not work. Also, Japanese Wikipedia has similar gadget.
Perhaps need to notify community this change, so that they can modify their existing gadgets? Thanks.

One participant argues that making MT non-default is equivalent to endorsing the use of MT, we haven't tested his claim. Therefore, this task should not be closed and further evaluation is needed to determine whether we should take more aggressive actions (i.e. disable it completely).

That is, we assume the GFW won't cut the Internet in whole since it is essential for academic research, foreign trades and so on. Certain kinds of websites, such as education institutes, libraries, statistics websites and academic websites are exempted from blocking in general.
Would it be possible for the WMF to partner with public libraries and colleges to host portal pages under their domains? Such portals are "politically" safe to access and immune to censorship. IPBE granted here can be ephemeral or short-time to counter abuse since it is trivial for users to re-verify.

It depends on Cloudflare Workers to automate the email processing and password reset triggering, with a few lines of code.
I am just reminded that it might have privacy issues as technically I am collecting personal email addresses even though it is not associated with any other info. So I want to seek the community's input on whether this is acceptable or not. Would you mind taking a peek at the tool and dropping me a quick note with your thoughts? Any suggestions or concerns are totally welcome.

Just for note. The reason of cannot vote is that only the poll on the votewiki was extended, but the local one did not extended. Therefore, users cannot follow Special:SecurePoll link on the local wiki to vote. Thanks.

One simple case on my mobile device, I turned off both "Responsive Mode" and "Limit width Mode" then set view desktop site in browser, the layout seems no change. When I click on "QuickEdit" button, the button somtimes pop onto where "TW" tab located (covered) at thus it caused that I either open the Twinkle tab or just no response and I need click on quickedit again to use it. I didn't meet this problem in old Vector under the same circumstance. It's not that incompatible but it's annoying.
Wish I can provide more examples when I back to keyboard cuz I am traveling outside with no laptop.

I agree with Vituzzu. This is not a technical matter. It should be discussed in global RFC etc instead of here. Thanks.
