Initial enablements for the new Special:Contribute page entry point on mobile

Description

The new Special:Contribute page can be enabled on a per-skin basis using the new configuration flag wgSpecialContributeSkinsDisabled

Initial enablement

The proposed enablement will be for the mobile skin and on the following small set of Wikipedias:

  • Albanian (sq)
  • Bangla (bn) Disabled per T345772, until T345102 is completed
  • Malayalam (ml)
  • Mongolian (mn)
  • Tagalog (tl)

Those Wikipedias have the mobile translation experience enabled and "Wikipedia:Requested_articles" page is available. Allowing for the initial set of activities provide to be available in their best way.

TODO

  • Review the feature on the beta cluster. Make sure the Special:Contribute page shows all the desired cards
  • Enable in production on desired skins

The initial deployment is complete. Most of the functionality works as expected. However, there is a regression where the "Contributions" menu has disappeared from the navigation menu. I created a separate ticket for this: T336838: Avoid the Contributions menu to disappear on mobile web

This will affect users of the new feature but also existing users needing to access their list of contributions as usual.
